M.A., Ph.D. Student

Veerpal is training to be a clinical psychologist at York University, where she is completing her Ph.D. under the supervision of Dr. John Eastwood.

She has received both psychotherapy and assessment training and has extensive experience working with adolescents, young adults, and adults who present with a broad range of mental health concerns (mood, anxiety, neurodevelopmental, and eating disorders) and life experiences (complex trauma, work-related injuries). With respect to psychotherapy, Veerpal has experience implementing cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and emotion-focused therapy (EFT). More recently, she has been trained in providing trauma therapy using the tri-phasic trauma model. With respect to assessment, Veerpal has experiencing conducting psychoeducational and diagnostic assessments.

Veerpal uses an integrative approach to her clinical practice. She works from a humanistic, client-centered, process-oriented framework, so as to provide clients a safe, non-judgemental, and emphatic space to process and work through their emotions and life experiences.
