NIKI NOROUZIAN

M.A. in Clinical Psychology

Niki Norouzian is passionate about working together with trauma survivors and those with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as they move through their own unique journey to recovery. She received her M.A. in Clinical Psychology from York University where she is currently completing her Ph.D. She has also received an Honours B.Sc. in Mental Health Studies from the University of Toronto.

At Bear Psychology, Niki provides several services for adult trauma survivors and those with PTSD including:
• assessment services
• individual therapy
• group therapy

Niki has received training in the following areas:
• working with individuals with a range of concerns including anxiety, post-traumatic stress, self-criticism, depression, relationship problems, and chronic pain
• Trauma Practice therapy for guiding clients through stabilization and initial symptom reduction, trauma memory processing, and reconnection
• Emotion-Focused Therapy to help clients accept, express, regulate, make sense of, and transform emotion
• Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore and manage ambivalence about change

Niki has a warm, safe, and authentic interpersonal style that fits her collaborative, inclusive approach to psychotherapy. She integrates various forms of therapy in order to provide personalized treatment that is tailored to each client’s unique needs, strengths, and goals. Her main focuses in therapy are to help clients cope with distressing thoughts and emotions, develop more adaptive coping strategies, and form fulfilling relationships with others.
